My Stories on the Radio!

I received an early Christmas gift this year from Shannon Guillory, a disc jockey on local community radio station KTOO, 104.3 in Juneau, Alaska. She has a program called “Telling Tales with Ms. G” that broadcasts for a half hour on Tuesday nights, at 7 pm, AST, and streams on the Internet. On her program, she reads short stories. She selected my Thanksgiving mystery “Only the Sacrifice Knows,” originally published online in Kings River Life Magazine on November 26, 2013. Now you can listen to Ms. G read it at: http://www.ktoo.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/TT120914.mp3. She also plans to read “Mr. Claude North.” YAY!

Local Author Showcase

This Saturday, I’m participating in the Local Author Showcase at the main Richland County Public Library on Assembly Street in Columbia, SC, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. The event features more than 100 authors representing various genres. I’m thrilled that friends from the Upstate Sisters in Crime chapter will be present, including Cindy Blackburn (cozy/humorous mysteries), Elysabeth Eldering (mysteries/nonfiction/YA), and Polly Iyer (romance/mysteries/suspense/thrillers). Bert Goolsby will have his latest novel, Finding Roda Ann, as well as his devotional and other books. Be sure to read Susan F. Craft’s The Chamomile. Sequels are available in January and June of 2015!

A Wonderful Story

Drawing by McKenzie Miller

Tonight, the St. Paul’s Players have their dinner theatre production of The Fourth Wise Man. Based on Henry Van Dyke’s story, “The Other Wise Man,” it is the tale of Artaban, who tries to follow the Three Kings and bring gifts to the Christ Child. During his journey, Artaban sacrifices his gifts to help others. In the end, he questions if his gifts have been wasted, but receives assurance that his actions were worthy. Jim Jarvis, John Arnold, Brenda Byrd, Olin Jenkins, Randy Nolff, Mark Wade, and Valerie Ward beautifully bring the story to life. Please come today or tomorrow!
