Susan F. Craft is an excellent author, but she’s also a talented artist. As she wrote her latest novel, Laurel, for inspiration, she painted a waterfall where a special, romantic, poignant, and future-changing scene takes place.
While searching for their daughter, who was stolen with her Cherokee aunt by slavers, Lilyan and Nicholas come across an enchanting waterfall where fireflies dot the sky.
At that time, they reaffirm their commitment to each other and their family. Susan’s picture wonderfully illustrates their view. During the holidays, Susan and I enjoyed painting snowy landscapes. Best wishes, Susan. May many readers enjoy Laurel.
Thank you, Paula! What a nice post. I had so much fun at the painting class.
ReplyDeleteMe, too, Susan. I hope we can go again. Also, I hope you'll do more paintings of the scenes you imagine in your writing.
ReplyDeleteNice painting and way to go for inspiration. Are you going to use that as your cover? Good luck with it. E :)

Hi, Elysabeth. Take a look at the previous post for the cover. It features a mother and child.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to say that Susan gave me a print of her painting for helping with her book launch. It will be a prized possession!
ReplyDeleteNice. It is a beautiful painting. I should get back to writing but after my fall in October and having to deal with shoulder pain and some weird sensation right now it's all I can do to get a full shift in without quitting. Anyway, I should be able to come to the meeting in February (hope to have my taxes done and back before then but if not, it's the day after payday so I should be good). See you soon - E :)
