Christmas and New Year Joy!

Last month Buddhapuss Ink publisher MaryChris Bradley emailed that “Confidence in the Family” would appear in both print and e-book formats. On December 13 (the release date), I received MYSTERY TIMES TEN 2013 and loved sharing it during the holidays. To celebrate the anthology’s launch, my talented bestest buddy author Susan F. Craft made a wonderful glass ornament featuring the cover and my story title. She found the perfect display “hook,” so I can enjoy the ornament throughout the year. In 2013, I’ve rejoiced for friends, family, story publications, and a new website. I’m so incredibly grateful. Happy New Year!

Linnette R. Mullin's Debut Novel

Linnette Mullin, founder of the Palmetto Christian Writers’ Network, is celebrating publication of her debut novel, Finding Beth. Her protagonist, Beth Gallagher has lost her brother and is estranged from her father. Seeking answers, Beth turns to the one man her brother warned her about, Kyle Heinrich, then flees to the Smoky Mountains to clear her mind and seek God’s will about her impending marriage. When Beth discovers the course she needs to take, will she have the resolve to follow through?

Linnette, married and mother of four sons, is at work on her next novel, Loving Tiffany. Congratulations, Linnette!

The Mother Goose Paper Plate Award

Entire Cast Curtain Call. Photo from Brenda Byrd.

A few years ago one of our younger St. Paul’s Players, Evelyn Stith, introduced us to the custom of the “paper plate awards.” Each production since, at our party, we’ve presented accolades to each participant written on a paper plate.

This year, after I handed out the awards, I received one from the group, the “Mother Goose” award.

Wikipedia defines Mother Goose as an “imaginary author of ... tales and ... rhymes” sometimes dressed as a Welsh country woman and other times as a goose.

I can’t adequately express my pride for all the participants in A Sherlock Holmes Christmas, which had a sold out dinner theater opening on Friday, December 6, and played to enthusiastic audiences at matinee and evening performances on Saturday, December 7.
