Canadian Migration

This morning, I heard about a multi-vehicle accident that caused a traffic standstill in another part of town. I thought my way would be clear until I found myself in a line of stopped cars. The cause for the delay? Two Canadian geese and their goslings were crossing the road. The first adult goose walked ahead and reached the sidewalk with her brood. The second, seeing that her young ones lagged behind, waited mid-street until they caught up and passed in front of her to the other side. Although a car revved, the goose took her time in waddling across.

The BWG Roundtable Connection

PGB, Carol Wright, and Debra Goldstein

A delightful occurrence happened at Malice Domestic this year. I had the opportunity to meet Carol L.Wright, an editor of the Bethlehem Writers Roundtable, the online journal where I was first published. The BWR has been particularly kind to me, having featured three of my stories online and reprinted one in the ebook Let It Snow:The BWR Winter Collection 2015. In this picture, Debra Goldstein and I greet Carol, who was enjoying her first Malice. Debra’s short story “Political Cornucopia” appeared in the November 2013 issue of BWR. I’ll always be grateful for the BWR’s support and encouragement.

Wildside Press

Holding FISH OR CUT BAIT (Third Guppy Anthology at its debut), I took my picture with Wildside Press publishers John Betancourt and Carla Coupe in the Malice dealers room. I was the only representative author attending. What a thrill when Dorothy Cannell approached me and asked about my story. She had John and Carla save her a copy which she said she would read, then donate to her library so others could discover the new authors. John and Carla also published the Chesapeake Chapter’s HOMICIDAL HOLIDAYS. They celebrated Art’s nomination for “Premonition” and victory for another story at the banquet.
