Living Last Supper

In March, for the fifth time, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church presented the Living Last Supper during Holy Week. Our cast and crew have been together for at least the last two bi-annual performances. Some of us have participated since the first. The production was enhanced this year by violin and cello accompaniment from Mary Lee Taylor Kinosian, her sister Jacquie Taylor, and her daughters. Our generous audiences donated over $1,200 for the Oliver Gospel Mission, an organization that helps feed and shelter our community’s homeless. Wayne Fields accepted the collected funds from Pastor Metze, Reggie Hall, Arthur Suggs, and me.

Easter Preparation

On Good Friday, the St. Paul’s Players assisted in presenting the midday service with Pastor Metze, Andrew More, and, from Ebenezer Lutheran Church, Pastors Brooks and Bauser. The program was based on the scripture account of James, Peter, and John waiting with Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemene and called “Will You Watch with Me One Hour?” I appreciate so much the participation of Asa and John Arnold, Malechi Doran, Reggie Hall, Bonnylin Henry, John Henry, Jim and Pat Jarvis, Olin Jenkins, Dean Long, Randy Nolff, Lori and Scott Stepp, and Valerie Ward. The Fourth Wise Man

In the St. Paul’s Players production of The Fourth Wise Man, Artaban, a magi who sought to follow the three wise men and bring gifts to the Christ Child, sold all he had to buy a sapphire, a ruby, and a pearl.

On his journey, he was stopped three times and had to use his gifts to benefit others.

His life ended in Jerusalem, where he learned that Jesus had been sent to the cross.

He thought his life was a failure, until he heard God’s voice saying, “What you have done for the least, you have done for me.”

A Time for Thanksgiving

I am so thankful for the family, friends, co-workers, colleagues, and people I meet under many circumstances who make every experience in my life richer.

I’m also grateful for recent happy news. That Mysterious Woman (including my story) has been released. Three of my stories are scheduled to be published next year. Another is under consideration for an eBook.

And, The Fourth Wise Man will be performed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Columbia at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, and 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Saturday, December 6.
